Walleye-The bite is improving. They are moving up into 12 to 20 feet of water, mostly on points. Crankbaits and Curly Tail Grubs are both pretty good choices right now. The team of Elrod and Chatwell caught a 7 Lb.+ Walleye on a Crankbait Sunday while fishing in the Logan Open Bass Tournament!
White Bass-They are also improving some. Look for them in 40 to 50 feet of water where points drop of into the channel. Happy Hour Shad and SlingBlades are both working.
Catfish-Good on Nightcrawlers.
Crappie-No reports.
Bass-The bite was pretty good this weekend. It took over 20 lbs. to win the Logan Open. Reports varied, but reaction baits were used to catch some of the better weights. Smallmouth are schooling in 10 to 20 feet of water on points. Most of the Largemouth came shallower, 5 to 10 feet.

Bluegill-Good
David Babb and I fished the Logan Open this past weekend and even though both days were cold and wet we had a pretty good tournament. We finished 10th with a 2 day total weight of 14.27. Most of our keepers came on topwater with Whopper Ploppers. We also added a few drop shotting Berkley Max Scent 4" Minnows and wacky rigged Senko style baits. I am already looking forward to doing it again next year!
Kathy has a couple of boat storages available at this time. You can contact her at: 575-403-6822.
Until next week,
TIGHT LINES AND GOOD FISHING!
